There are other ones like Crystal Downloads www.crystal-downloads.com I can’t find any reviews for these companies online, but their prices are really low. Does anyone know if these are scams?

Sorry but if it’s rediculously cheap it’s probably a scam. I’d only ever go with Microsoft or your local computer store’s website.

Another alternative is OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/) which is a free/opensource version of Microsoft Office designed to be as like it as possible. I’ve only ever used open office and MUCH prefer it to Microsoft Office it has all the packages but there named a little differently. It has Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Access, Publisher etc.

And the files it saves them as work perfectly with Microsoft Office.

I saw a question asking for a product license for Office 97 and wondered if it was legal.

Microsoft still has the copyright for 95 years from the date of first publication.

I’m looking to upgrade and get a new office suite, I don’t know much else about Office other than powerpoint and Excel, but is there a piece of software in there good for day and hourly planning? If not, anyone got some really good suggestions?

Outlook has a pretty decent calendar built into it. You could also check out Google Calendar.

I just got a new laptop which comes with Microsoft Office installed on it. However, after 60 days I need to enter a product key to continue using it. Do I really have to spend $150 on a product key?
Is there any way to get around this?

you can buy the student version at staples for less I believe.

I looked up my "Product ID" on all my office computers. They are all different. Does this indicate that I am properly licensed? Or can using one "Product Key" on multiple computers still yield different "Product Ids"?

So say I have computer A and computer B but one software license and key. If I used that same CD and key on each computer would I get different "Product Id" when I looked it up under the installed software on computer A than I would looking up the same on computer B?
Darn :(

OK, I have several licenses but wanted to know which went to what computer. How can I figure this out?
Is there a way to tie a ID to a key, to tell that that key resulted in that ID?

I would prefer nto to have to download anything.

I have some computer education from 6 years ago so know my way around a computer and programming, but am very rusty and never dealt with licensing issues before.

No it does not. A "Product ID" is just a reference to a specific installation. You need to have one "Product Key" *PER* computer unless you have a volume licence agreement (Different looking disk, different licence system)

the new ipad from apple…. does it have or work on microsoft office products?

No. But it can open MS office files using some apps, just like what iPhone / iPod Touch do.

You can find the latest information about iPad here:

We want to be able to scan and later locate or retrieve documents easily. Any suggestions for software that will work with MS Office products?

What you need is a Document Management System (DMS). You can try free open source Knowledge Tree Community Edition. For more details see here:

PostOffice.co.uk: "Through our network, we sell around 170 products and services".

Their services would include sorting post, currency and home phone etc.

What would they classify as products?

This should answer your question.

If you want to buy the appropriate Microsoft product, then yes, you need to spend what it costs. If OpenOffice.org will work for you, then use that.

I recently got a new computer and I need to install microsoft office. I understand that it comes in a 3 time use. How do I make use of the 3 -time use? I can’t seem to figure out how to enter the key onto my new computer.

First, you have to install Office. Then, when it asks for the product key, put it in.

Discuss three different ways Microsoft Office products (word, excel, access, and powerpoint) can be integrated.

They can all be integrated using ODBC.

I got a new laptop with a basic microsoft office package pre-installed. Every time I bring any of the applications up, they ask for a product key, how do I find it?
So how do I find the product key for a trial product?
It says I can cancel, and do it later, but that I can only do that 20 times before it won’t let me use the software anymore. I’m tempted to just use open office or something, but I don’t know if there is a type of powerpoint creator for that.

u ahve to buy software im gessing ur using the microsoft and its ascking

u have like 6 months after ur buy it b for u need to but i would get it until that 6 months is up u should just be able to hit cancle and still use program

It comes with your software. If you have a free trial, and it has now expired, you need to buy the software.

For example, if I purchased MS Office and had it installed on one computer and then for some reason had to install it on another computer later, would I have to buy the MS Office product again for a separate product key in order to use it?
Thanks. I’ve tried that with other MS products and it wouldn’t let me use it at all other than the original first time.

Yes, it is usable on up to 3 PC’s

Hello, I have a license for Microsoft Office 2007 Pro, and have already applied it to a laptop (my old one) and a desktop. I have recently bought a new laptop and I want to transfer the product key from the old laptop to the new one and uninstall Officer from the old one. I tried uninstalling office from the old one, but when I try to register the product to the new laptop I get the message that the product key can’t be used for more hardware. Does anyone know how to change the product key and activate the new laptop? I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

You can backup all your product keys firstly with this simple product key finder program:
