That’s the reason suburbs were created and you have to buckle up when you drive, ect, etc.
There is absolute no personal liberties in America…except freedom of speech… and everyone seems is be accepting it.
It is sickening.
You are very, very correct about Americans and our laws. It’s a well proven FACT that happier societies have fewer laws. The more laws, the more unhappy the society.
Laws are also NOT making American safer…just more restricted. Americans need to wake up and realize that this restriction is EXACTLY what Government, and Big Business want.
Example:
It’s already illegal to murder someone. It doesn’t matter if you murder them with your bare hands, run them over in a car, sic a pit bull on them, or shoot them with a gun…it’s all illegal. So why bother spending time and make more laws to restrict certain types of guns even further?
Answer: The U.S. Government would actually REALLY like it if American citizens ultimately became an unarmed society. That would give the Government free rein to do anything they wanted to then.
Example: NAIS (National Animal Identification System). Why do small farmers have to tag each and every animal, (be it cow, pig, chicken, horse, rabbit, goose, goat, sheep, llama, alpaca, turkey, ect) when major Agra Business companies that make billions in profit every year, are allowed to "tag" entire herds, or flocks of thousand of animals under a single number?
Answer: To drive more small farmers out of business, and have a further stranglehold on the Nation’s food supply. The Agra Business companies shell out thousands, even millions to politicians. They have people that hold the highest offices (Hilary Clinton , Donald Rumsfeld for example) on their payroll. It doesn’t matter if they are Democrat, or Republican, those companies control very highly placed politicians. Who-ever controls the food, controls the people.
Trust me, not all Americans are accepting of our Government becoming our super parent. We do things to prove it too. We own guns, we vote, we grow our own food, we build our own homes, will live off grid, we work as self employed people, we provide our own medical care….in other words, we become as completely independent of any sort of outside influence as possible.
We are "slaves" to nothing. Not to a weekly paycheck, a grocery store, a power company, and certainly not to our Government.
The Government hates people like us. The laws prove it. More and more laws are passed every single year to try and take away the very rights that give us our independence.
Did you know in South Carolina it’s already illegal to grow and butcher your own livestock? Most people would say, "So what." That takes away people’s religious freedom, to raise livestock, and feed them in ways that agree with their religion, and butcher them in ways that agree with their religion.
Our Nation was founded because people were seeking religious freedom.
Agra business companies are now trying to get new laws passed. These laws are written ambiguously enough that the very growing of a tomato plant will become illegal. The companies/lobbyists trying to enact the laws promise that not how the law will be applied. I promise you that eventually it WILL be applied that way.
Freedom of speech is of course also being impacted. They are removing all books that contain the "N" word in them, from our public, and school libraries. Even classic books like Tom Sawyer, and Huckleberry Finn. The "N" word is considered to be offensive, and public libraries are buckling and removing these great works of literature. Has anyone bothered to look at some of the rap music these very same libraries contain? Rap music filled with the "N" word. Also filled with lyrics calling women b!tches, ho’s, c^nts, and a bunch of other nasty things. Yet that music is ok, because it’s sung by black rap "artists?"
Americans need to wake up and get back on track with morals, ethics, values, pride in living independent lifestyles, and valuing the family above all others, including work, athletes, and hollywood stars.
For all the above that I have said, I love my Country. There is no-place on earth I’d rather live. Despite her faults, America is a Great Nation. If suddenly every country dropped their borders, more people from around the world would flood to America than any other country. We are a great place to live.
Americans simply need to wake up, and vote out the carrier politicians and vote in people who actually do what they say they are going to do. Americans should not stand for any sort of corruption, and certainly shouldn’t expect it from our Government.

I hav heard that it can be done by a simple test with a battery and a multimeter, but don’t know how to do it.
With a multimeter, you can find continuity of the 3 sets of windings. Okay? Then, assign one of them as U winding and assume a certain U1 & U2. Now connect a battery + ve to U1 & – ve to U2. Now use a galvanometer or micro-ammeter; connect the meter positive to assumed V1 & meter – ve to assumed V2. If battery supply is momentarily given to U1 & U2, then there will be forward pointer movement in the meter. If there is reverse movement, then your assumed V1 is actually V2 & vice-versa. You may repeat the test for W winding also.

I recieved my state tax refund, it’s a cashiers check, and I don’t have a bank account. I really don’t want to open one unless I have to. Is it possible to cash a cashiers check without having a bank account?
If you go to the bank that the check is drawn on, then they will cash it, provided that you can supply sufficient identification. You might also want to consider if you have any friends or family that has a bank account, endorse the check over to them, let them deposit it into their account, and give you the cash. A lot cheaper than going through a check cashing place.

We are planning to start a modeling agency in Thailand. Any ideas on how to? I seek for legal advise in Bankok but what they gave me is the general rules in starting up a business. Anyone can advise?
Give below steps will help you.
1. Request permission to use company name. Before a business can be established, it must apply with the Department of Business Development for permission to use the chosen company name. The name can be searched and reserved on the DBD website (see Resources). This is the convenient alternative to registering in person at the department. Online registration is free of charge—in-person application costs THB$20. (THB$1=USD$0.0311)
2. Open a bank account, in which to deposit 25 percent of company capital, as required by Thai law. Upon the approval of the memorandum of association, which outlines how the company is governed and directed. Make sure to consult with a Thai business attorney for the proper memorandum format. The company is to hold a statutory meeting, and the shareholders are to pay 25 percent of the registered capital.
3. Acquire a corporate seal. While the only documents that require a company seal are company share certificates, companies often apply the corporate seal to other documents. This is done to certify the authenticity of a specific document. Corporate seals range from THB$300 to 500, depending on the supplier. Office supply stores typically supply corporate seals with four days’ processing time.
4. Request approval of memorandum of association and articles of association, and register the company as a legal entity, with the Private Limited Companies Registrar. The application for registration of the memorandum are done in the Thai language only, but if the company name is foreign it must appear in both languages on the application. Details about the company, its founders—called promoters—and value and number of shares are requested on the application. The documents are signed before the registrar, an authorized auditor or an attorney at law.
5. Register for taxes with the Revenue Department. Your taxpayer identification card is issued upon registration. The value added tax certificate will be issued and mailed separately. Thailand has strict filing requirements for companies earning more than THB$1,800,000 annually—they must report monthly. The registration process is free of charge and takes about three days.
6. Register with the Social Security Office, Ministry of Labor, for Social Security and Workmen’s Compensation Fund. Employers with one or more employees must register in person, at the Social Security Office, Ministry of Labor. The company work regulations are also filed with the district Office of Labor Protection and Welfare of the Ministry of Labor. The regulations are posted on the premises within 15 days of hiring 10 or more workers.

My 3 week old doesn’t have a birth certificate yet, but we need to fly (domestic flight).
I have registered the birth. The hospital just hasn’t gotten the documents to the birth certificate office yet. I keep calling, but they say it may be 6 weeks.
She does not need a birth certificate to fly. Noone under the age of 18 (I think it is) needs any form of identification to fly domestically.
If you have concerns, just carry her crib card and/or her and your hospital bracelets which are proof of the birth. However, I do not think it is essential.
EDITED TO ADD: Call the airline and inquire. I am sure that MANY people fly before a birth certificate is available. Your pediatrician could, if necessary, supply you with a letter verifying her name and date of birth and that she is cleared to fly (though I have NEVER heard of that requirement- I know people who fly the day after a birth).

It is my understanding that a daycare provider must be licensed to be able to get a tax credit or use the Dependant Care benefit through work. But I hear of people using the social security number to get the credit even though they are not licensed. Is this legal?
Yes, you can claim the credit. From www.irs.gov:
You must identify all persons or organizations that provide care for your child or dependent. Use Part I of Form 2441 or Schedule 2 (Form 1040A) to show the information.
Information needed. To identify the care provider, you must give the provider’s:
1. Name,
2. Address, and
3. Taxpayer identification number.
If the care provider is an individual, the taxpayer identification number is his or her social security number or individual taxpayer identification number. If the care provider is an organization, then it is the employer identification number (EIN).
You do not have to show the taxpayer identification number if the care provider is one of certain tax-exempt organizations (such as a church or school). In this case, enter “Tax-Exempt” in the space where the tax form calls for the number.
If you cannot provide all of the information or the information is incorrect, you must be able to show that you used due diligence (discussed later) in trying to furnish the necessary information.
Getting the information. You can use Form W-10, Dependent Care Provider’s Identification and Certification, to request the required information from the care provider. If you do not use Form W-10, you can get the information from:
1. A copy of the provider’s social security card,
2. A copy of the provider’s driver’s license (if the license includes the social security number),
3. A copy of the provider’s completed Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, if he or she is your household employee,
4. A copy of the statement furnished by your employer if the provider is your employer’s dependent care plan, or
5. A letter or invoice from the provider if it shows the necessary information.
Records you should keep
You should keep this information with your tax records. Do not send Form W-10 (or other document containing this information) to the Internal Revenue Service.
Due diligence. If the care provider information you give is incorrect or incomplete, your credit may not be allowed. However, if you can show that you used due diligence in trying to supply the information, you can still claim the credit.
You can show due diligence by getting and keeping the provider’s completed Form W-10 or one of the other sources of information listed earlier. Care providers can be penalized if they do not provide this information to you or if they provide incorrect information.
Provider refusal. If the provider refuses to give you the identifying information, you should report whatever information you have (such as the name and address) on the form you use to claim the credit. Enter “See Page 2” in the columns calling for the information you do not have. On the bottom of page 2, explain that you requested the information from the care provider, but the provider did not give you the information. This statement will show that you used due diligence in trying to furnish the necessary information.

We have one child in elementary school, and a mother in law living with us.( I know your jelous about the MIL) What kind of hidden things can we write off our taxes? Any help would be great, Thank you
For several reasons, the best thing you can do is start a business. There are many items you can deduct the business portion thereof that you cannot deduct now. I kept the books for a lady and couldn’t believe it: her bank had prorated what portion of her mortgage was the business portion and she was allowed to deduct that. Some items have to be capitalized. That means depreciated over time and you cannot deduct those expenses immediately.
Here’s a few. It takes years. While you learn, you should contact an enrolled agent in your area. A CPA is useless to you unless he is an enrolled agent.
As for health & medical, you can only deduct that portion that is over and above 7.5% of your adjusted gross income unless you have a business. If you have a business, you should purchase your health insurance through your business name. That way, you may deduct 100% of the premiums on your Schedule C. If you do not have a business, or do not wish to start one right now, you should familiarize yourself with the 1040 Schedule A. It takes a while to get really familiar with all of this, so you may want to go to an enrolled agent for the time being. That way, you will pay the lowest possible legal income tax liability.
Here’s a little more. Please keep referencing this:
BE READY: WHAT YOU NEED
1 Form 1098′s from the bank, mortgage holding company or HUD, etc.
2 Get TIN, itemized Statement and value of donations from the recipient of the donation. E.g: Salvation Army TIN is 58-0660607.
The IRS is now a lot stricter in their requirements with regard to giving away automobiles, vessels, aircraft, computers and certain investments than
ever before. The IRS has a new Form called the 1098-C that specifically deals with the charitable contribution of your vehicle. Do not donate a vehicle,
boat or airplane UNLESS the recipient of the donation provides you with this 1098-C or a written acknowledgement containing all the information required
by the 1098-C. If the donee sells the vehicle, the recipient of your donation MUST fill in Line 4C or write down when he sold the vehicle, sign it, and
or course put his Taxpayer Identification Number. If the donee does not, you will only be able to deduct the LESSER of the fair market value of the vehicle
or what the vehicle was sold for by the charitable organization. For donations exceeding $500.00, the recipient of your donation must supply a written
statement acknowledging the donation. Even if do not itemize, you still MUST attach the Form 1098-C. For these non-cash donations, the donor may not claim a
deduction in excess of what the donor sold the mode of transportation for. If the vehicle had a value of between $250.00 and $500.00, the donee must
provide a statement of any cash received, a description of the property donated and whether any goods or services were rendered in exchange for the
donation. If the vehicle was sold for significantly below fair market value, you may be able to deduct up to $500. If the vehicle was sold for gross
proceeds which equaled or exceeded fair market value, you may only deduct the FMV [1098-C or written acknowledgement by donee]. If the charitable
organization did intervening substantial use or upgrade, there should be a written statement of such. If the charitable organization intends to sell the
vehicle for significantly under FMV, the charitable organization must type up a statement detailing such within thirty days of receiving the donation along
with a certification that the sale is a direct furtherance of the charitable organization’s purpose of relieving the poor and needy or the underprivileged
whom are in need of a means of transportation.
3 The new Schedule B: did you have any bank or securities account abroad or did you have an interest in any bank or securities account abroad worth more than 10,000.00? Unfortunately, this includes military. It also includes those of you whom emigrated to the United States and you still have an interest in any bank or securities account back home. If you fail to fill in Part III of the Schedule B, the fine is $10,000! And you must fill it in even if you use the 1040-A or 1040-EZ.
4 Have you incorporated yet? This can lower your taxable income tremendously and even possibly qualify you for the earned income credit and even maximize the Child Care Credit for you.
5 Have a storage space to save all your receipts and keep a diary of all of your expenses.
6 Did you have anything of fairly large or large value stolen?
7 W-2′s, 1099′s, Schedule R’s. Have you had a debt forgiven? It has to be reported in income. And, are they correct? I may have to fill out a revised W-2 Form.
8 If you loan to a friend or relative, make sure you have a written agreement to repay, make the interest rate in line with bank or credit union interest rates in your area and get their SS#.
9 Keep your state inspection stickers. Park your most expensive vehicle at your business if possible.
10 Make large purchases for your business in the final quarter of your fiscal or calendar year {Section 179 deduction}.
11 Incorporate and set up a Health Savings Account or HCA. Be careful about Self Employment Plans and SIMPLE’s. You may not be able to match all of what you employees wish to contribute.
12 Make your vacation a business trip. The rules: – if less than seven days, can deduct all the expenses. Caution! No largesse. -if be more than seven days, day depart does not count in figuring; day returning does.
13 Figure your potential alternative minimum tax liability before you refinance at higher interest or higher payments. You may not be receiving a tax break at all and may end up paying more tax!
14 If you had to fill out a "short form" previously, figure your charitable contributions over the past five tax years.
15 If you give away material, clothing, vehicles, collectibles, etc, worth 5000.00 or more, make sure you get a Statement from an appraiser and make sure it is signed by that appraiser. When you donate material worth more than 250.00, get the TIN, itemized list of donated items and the worth signed by a representative of the donee.
16 How much did the vehicle cost if you are going to use as the vehicle used in your business including the State sales tax?
17 See the "tie-breaking rules" in the IRS’ Publication 17, page 27, as to whom gets the dependent exemption in the event two or more taxpayers claim the same dependent. Also, review the rules for qualifying child and qualifying relative. This will save the expense of having to ask me. It takes time to determine.
18 Get the EIN or TIN of the Daycare Center or babysitter with regard to your Child and Dependent Care expenses. Allocate per chld your expenditures.
19 If you cannot make up your mind to incorporate, become a sole proprietorship and use your home as a business. Measure the square footage dwelling and the square footage of what you can use for business related items and transactions.
20 Have you moved, is the driving distance to your job more than fifty miles from your old job and have you worked at the new location for 39 weeks? Save your receipts, keep a journal of your expenses, including storage and meals [reasonable].
21 If you received a Retirement plan distribution and you are under fifty-nine and a one-half, roll it over into a Roth IRA before sixty days.
22 For 2007, you can have a total of 4000.00 for student loan interest deduction, tuition and fees expense and credit (Form 8863).
23 Make sure that the tenant shows to you the 1099 [ordinarily a 1099-MISC] that he/she sent to the IRS if you purchase a property to rent out, an investment vehicle or a property that you intend to rent for a portion of the year.
24 If you are a day trader, know what your commissions were and have the list of trades from your broker.
25 Before trading stocks, fill out a 475(f) or launch a corporation that trades stocks. But make sure you send in estimated tax if you are having capital gains.
26 When you have real estate, be a material participant. Save your receipts and keep a diary of your expenses. When you take a business trip, it is a deduction so long as the trip is business related and has a business purpose. Make sure you make the decisions and approvals and not a management company that you hire. Write down the names and positions of the people you meet with. IRS auditors study the contract with the management company.
27 What health insurance you carried for each business you had. Set up a business checking or savings account and pay for your health insurance ONLY out of your business banking or credit union account.
28 Are you and/or your spouse over sixty-five and/or legally blind?
29 Do you qualify as disabled on the Schedule R?
30 Tuition and fees statement from a qualified school. It’s the 1098-T.
31 There are exclusion limitations for long-term medical expenses. If you exceed 91250 for 2007 {I’ll have to check for the exact figure}, the excess is excludable from income only to the extent of actual costs in excess of the IRS dollar cap incurred for long-term care services for the 2007 calendar year. Amounts in excess must be included in income. The exclusion of $250/day (91250/year) is reduced by reimbursements and payments received by anyone for the cost of qualified long-term care medical services for the chronically ill.
32 Did you or your corporation pay alternative minimum tax last year? Fill out Form 8801 if you are an individual.
33 Hurricane Katrina retirement plan distributions.
34. Fill out the necessary forms for a SEP, SIMPLE, HSA, HCA; credits for low burning fuel vehicles, housing energy credits, etc.
CONSULT ME REGARDING:
1 Do not sell stock that you have held for less than 366 days. This is known as a short term capital gain. A short term capital gain is treated

A gravito-magnetism special relativity time dilation device includes a mobile network communications door locking device and a pico-laser superconducting sphere with electro-static baearings that permit rotation of a superconductor in which a persons resides in the center of a levitating center. Via gravity waves tuned by a computer controlled superconducting sphere of stationary super-cooled sheres that surround the person with a lead protection sphere.
The time traveler enters the sphere by opening the door with a CPU controlled rolling code transmitting device via a quantum network interface with a laser optical array to permit opening and closing of the door. Sensors may be set up along the superconductor wall. A wireless router or bridge can also be used.
The time traveler turns off neuclear pico-laser before entering the device the destination to permit opening the door. An external input device such as a computer keyboard, which may be located at home, in an office, or at any other location may also be utlized. Quantum software could be provided at a kiosk, a website, or via a mobile phone network in the case of home or business operation of the time device. Then, when the user enters the dime dilation device and is identified, the computer then sets up gravity waves to match the levitation for weight of the passenger, and the user floats through the sphere to the central destination.
Microwave radio frequency identification for external communcations may be arranged within the time dilation device for video and radio communications. Payment can be made by the mobile device to read and debit an electronic payment token, PDA, wrist watch device or key, or other device such as a quantum network telephone in order to pay for the time dilation, in case the trip is not pre-paid as mentioned above. Leasing may be an option.
The spheres are bathed in a coolant such as solid nitrogen or helium at -273 degrees Celsius, and may be position in a niobium casing to permit pulsation and/or rotation via the nuclear pico lasers. An operative distance between spheres is estimated to be 5 inches. The power supply is AC current at about to be determined via a power source of anti-mater battery or fusion power or fission power.
The interior sphere itself may optionally be made of a clear colored plastic (for example yellow) to allow travelers to see through to the surrounding area supercondutor, the interior would be supplied with plant growing food stuffs and a waterless tolet that works on the principal of a rotating vaccum suction system.
The traveler is required to wear 1/16 of an inch (.05875 millimeter) copper lined, oxygenated and air conditioned suit with helmet while in the time dilation machine for levitation purposes and breathing.
The time dilation machine is based on the BCS Theory of Cooper pairs, spinning electron pairs,
which dates back to 1957, and Special Reletivity 1905 but has not been used as a time dilation device.
My question is by how much time would each energy power source fission, fusion and anti-matter battery change the special relativity time dilation inside the device relative to time outside the device using an atomic clock if the device was spinning at each optimal energy potential for each energy source? Give answer in time years.
No way to parse that wall of rant.

None. Because ice cream has no bones.

Hello,
One of my friends came here with a K-1 visa, and he likes to find out if he can go take the written test to get the learner’s permit in NEW YORK STATE. He has the following identification:
–His valid passport from his country
–His K-1 visa (U.S. Citizen’s fiance) on his passport
–I-94 arrival record (will expire in June 6,2007)
–U.S. marriage certificate from nyc
–u.s. social security card
Is this enough or Does he need to wait for his green card?
thanks
Obviously he can’t supply a voter registration card, and no, he doesn’t have to wait for a green card. The passport with visa and either the permanent or temp work authorisation card should be enough by themselves.
Try here: http://www.dmv.org/ny-new-york/apply-license.php
Or the slightly less clear NY DMV site here http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/license.htm#newdrivers
and specifics on ID requirements here: http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/idlicense.htm

I have to make one of the element Chrlorine, and I am dumb, it has to hang from a string or something but I don’t even know HOW to build a model of an atom. So I’M going to fail. Great. I wish someone could just explain it in three words on how to do it please help me?! Give me sites!!! HOW DO I BUILD IT?! And what supplies?
Many science classes, especially chemistry classes, start by teaching the basics of an atom. Studying the structure of the atom is hard because you can’t see it with the unaided eye. However, scientists can make a model based upon experiments. Here’s how you can make your own atom model.
1. Buy craft foam balls. The atom needs a nucleus, protons and neutrons inside the nucleus and electrons that orbit the nucleus. Use craft foam balls for each of these.
2. Start building a base for the atom model. The base should be sturdy. Use an 8-inch square wooden block.
3. Drill a hole into the wooden base and glue a wooden rod. Allow it to dry completely before continuing to add atom parts to it.
4. Build the nucleus. Make part of the nucleus open to show what’s inside. Cut the foam ball in half. Attach the nucleus to the wooden rod. Let it dry.
5. Add other parts of the atom. Add smaller foam balls to the foam ball nucleus for protons and neutrons. Paint each smaller foam ball a different color for easy identification.
6. Put electrons orbiting around the nucleus. Use strong wire and make an orbit around the nucleus. Attach the stiff wire to the base and slide on the foam ball chosen for the electron.
7. Label the parts of the atom. Write a report for the job functions of each part of an atom.

Meaning say I have Comcast high speed internet… They gave me a modem I have to pay 4 bux a month extra. Cause it is there modem. I bought my own modem. Can I use my own modem so all I would have to do is plug in the wires into my new modem? Thanks
Yes, you can. With Comcast, that is "Cable" internet…so you would need a typical Cable modem like the Motorola Surfboard (one of the most popular). It usually retails for about $79.99 at most places.
Then…from what I understand, you have to call them up and they have to assign it a form of identification/IP address so that you can use it for internet.

I don’t think you can. It is a requirement. Best bet is to get photo ID. The place that supplies your driver’s liscense also provides other photo ID’s. If you have had one before, they will only need your social security card. If you haven’t, a copy of your birth certificate will work. Any one of the schools you attended while you were a kid will have a copy of it.

Okay so I have to use my learners permit as a form of identification and I need to know what the document number is. But I’m confused as to whether it is the ‘driver number’ or the ‘stock number’. This is really urgent so I would really appreciate any help! Thanks.
The "driver number" is the number assigned to you in the National Vehicle & Driver File, which is the national database of all vehicles and drivers in Ireland. It is unique to you, no matter how many licences you have had, or will have… or what vehicles categories you have had, or wll have. Basically, that’s the driver ID number that stays with you for as long as you will continue to drive. In 20 years time, whatever licence you have then will still have the same number on it.
The stock number is the number unique to the physical icence itself. By that, I mean, before your information was printed on it, your local Motor Tax Office (MTO) had the blank paper/plastic document itself. The number identifies the document itself and, other than being used to track when and which (blank) licences have been distributed to which MTO, is also often used to check the validity of licences in cases of potential forgery.
The Gardaí and the MTO can, and do, use EITHER number to identify a driver, though the "driver number" is the default (since, again, it’s the same on EVERY licence you’ve ever had or will have).
Therefore, that’s the number you should use yourself (although, to be frank, I can’t see why anyone OTHER than the Gardaí or Motor Tax Office would ever need to know that number or, indeed, SHOULD ever be supplied with it).

Your company received a request from its most important partner to comply with industry standards, which requires an audit trail of all financial data. Your manager summoned you to her office, explaining this new requirement and assigning you to design the architecture and a high-level auditing model. Compliance requires that all data changes be recorded in the history tables and that the auditing model employ a mechanism to audit any user on demand.
Use a data model or combination of the auditing models to produce the following:
1. the process flow diagram or flowchart of your auditing model
2. the data model of your auditing model
3. identification of all components that will be involved in the auditing model.
I answered a similar question recently, that you might want to review here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArN7aC0uYjdeoZfIAr0FPd0jzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20070920234221AAFUkyN
I am a computer guy, not an auditor.
You are using terminology that I am unfamiliar with.
I don’t know what is meant by an "audit model"
In your question, you refer to "db"
to me, that means "data base"
if that means something different to you, then you should spell out what you mean.
It is one thing in a company to come up with a set of rules to be followed to meet some standard.
It is something entirely different to ENFORCE those standards, be able to prove they are being enforced, to have management authorize the funding to do so.
Both challenges
* the rules
* prove their enforcement
are entirely dependent on the kind of computer or record keeping network system that is in place at the company.
Some rules can not be enforced on certain kinds of computer systems.
It is like you bought a boy scout tent and placed supplies inside, then you are asked to add security, and all you can afford is a padlock to put on the nylon zipper. A lot of computer security is like that. Companies do not want to spend the money to replace the tent with an aluminum shed, and burglar alarm system.
In your example, there is the need for a relational data base of sufficient sophistication that you can put trigger locks on the data to enforce company business rules.
Example … no one is to change any data, unless they are using certain programs on an approved list … and no one is to make any changes to those programs, unless they go through a particular software change control system. This can be enforced by certain combinations of operating systems, middleware, security software, data base structures, such as IBM’s DB2 our UDB (different names in different computer platform environments)

I would like to start a non profit organization to help low income children and teens by providing meals, health products, and school supplies.
I went through this process in 2008.
If you decide you want to register as a charity the first thing you need to do is write a formal mission statement. This is where you say exactly what your organization’s purpose is and how you expect to go about it.
Next you’ll need a board of trustees (3 people minimum) willing to help you. You’ll need to write up Articles of Organization and bylaws and file them with your state. You should have these documents reviewed by a lawyer. It’s important that you get these right because they will determine the shape of your organization and whether your group will be eligible for tax deductibility.
Once you are approved as a charity in your state the next step is to register as a 501(c)(3) organization with the IRS. The advantage to registering with the IRS as a charity is that it makes contributions tax deductible. The disadvantage is that the process is time consuming and expensive. The minimum registration fee alone is currently $400 and you’ll have to do a ton of complicated paperwork, including annual reports and tax returns.
There are many other steps (getting an EIN (Employer Identification Number), bank account, registering the name, creating a website, etc.) but these are the big ones. As you can see, unless you have a lot of help and plan to continue your group well into the future you’re likely to be better off organizing your group as a community service club without the formal trappings and tax advantages of a 501(c)(3).
The links below should help you get started with your research.
BTW, the IRS site is very helpful. Make sure to check out the changes in form 1023 (the application for 501(c)(3) tax-free status. The IRS has recently made changes to the fee structure. As of January 2010 the fee for non-profits with annual incomes below $10,000 has increased to $400 and organizations with gross receipts of over $10,000 must pay $850.
The IRS will soon institute a new filing system called Cyber Assistant. Once that’s in place organizations will either use Cyber Assistant and pay $250 or not use the system and pay $850.

Passport has expired and wanting to fly to Manchester in May from Newquay with bmibaby.com. Do you need to supply a valid passport or even ID for domestive flights within England ?
A passport is not necessary, but valid photographic ID of a good standard is accepted. Unlike some other airlines operating domestic flights in the UK, bmibaby don’t say that they will accept passports that have expired within the previous 2 years.
The attached link should help.

I’m doing a project in English about arranged marriage in the Afghan culture (in English since we’re reading The Kite Runner) and I need to know the process.
Please supply an online source, it’s not needed but preferred.
If you can, also provide instructions on how to simulate these steps in an interactive project (15-20 minutes by the way). The in-class couples are already chosen too.
Finding an ideal partner for a girl in Afghanistan is usually a planned affair. It is fair to say that true love is not the main criteria for marriage, although it might develop during the relationship. If a family looks for a match for a daughter they often do not look further than
first cousins. In fact, first cousins are quite popular grooms in Afghanistan, because in such a case the extended family remains close together. If there is no suitable first cousin the search is spread to find a groom that fits the parents taste. The identification of a groom for the girl may be initiated by the women in the family. Theydiscuss their opinions with other members of the family or community and identify thegrooms who could be a suitable match for the girl. The age, looks, education, and his abilityto support his wife and family are taken into consideration while looking for the ideal candidate. Once a man has been chosen, the men of the family take over the job and check out his character, reputation and finances. The father of the bride then shows the family of the future groom, his familys interest in the marriage of the two children. If the grooms family shows interest, a formal proposal is madeto the brides family. If the proposal is accepted a party is arranged by the brides family to confirm their acceptance and underline the fact that the expenses of the bride will now be taken over by the other family.

How do you get money when you are in prison?
Do you have to buy clothes of can they be brought to you?
Is there a limit on what you can have?
are there only certain types of things you can have?
What about shoes can you bring your own od do they supply them?
I can only answer for how things are done in my state, but here it goes:
Money: Money can be sent to you, through the mail. It will be taken from the envelope and deposited in an account for you. Checks and money orders are the safest way to do this. Be sure that the inmate’s name and identification number are on the check or money order.
Clothes: Inmates are provided with state issued clothing. Underwear, socks, pants, shirts, a sweatshirt, a winter coat, a pair of sneakers, and a pair of boots. Other clothing can be purchased through catalogs from outside vendors. There are vendors that specialize in products for prisons. Clothing can also be sent to inmates in packages, or through the visit room. (there are procedures in place for giving items to inmates on visits – don’t just hand them stuff when you see them) Expect there to be restrictions on clothing such as color, design, logos, pockets, etc.
Limits on property: Yes, there are limits. There are restrictions on colors, design, pockets, logos, etc. There is also an overall limit of how much you may possess. (Common sense – if all your possessions have to be kept in an 8×10 cell, there’s only so much room) The system where I work has a limit in that the property must fit in a certain number of standard size bags that are used for transporting inmate property.
Certain types of things: Yes. Any item that can be easily used as a weapon will not be allowed. Items that could be easily modified to be a weapon will probably not be allowed. There will be specifications and limits for almost anything an inmate possesses.
Shoes: Whatever shoes you wear to prison will most likely not be let in. Inmates are usually given three options: Send home at inmate’s expense, donate to charity, or destroy. Same will go for the clothes you wear. However, later, you will probably be allowed to receive shoes and clothing in packages or purchased through the commissary.
As I stated, I can only answer for procedures in the system where I work. Your best bet for a more definitive answer will be to check with the prison system that you will be dealing with. Often the system’s website will have most of the answers that you need. If they don’t, you could call a prison and ask.

Can any one explain to me what is a banking swift number, and how it is formed. I know it is an identification code for a bank, but do not know much technically about.
The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) is an industry-owned co-operative supplying secure, standardized messaging services and interface software to nearly 8,100 financial institutions in 207 countries and territories. SWIFT members include banks, broker-dealers and investment managers. While not always required, a Swift Code number may be required by some banks for the completion of wire transfers.

I’ve tried publishing on both kindle and barnes and noble, but they want my social security number or employee identification, but I’m underage so my mom has my ssn and won’t give it to me an I’ve never worked so I don’t have an EIN. Where can I publish( and receive some payment) without having to give either of these?
Lola,
Since you’re a minor, you will need your parent’s to get involved in any contracts. A minor can’t sign any legal documents or binding documents without a parent or guardian. I’ve published before and all I had to Supply was Name, Address, Telephone Number, Email Address, Title, Word Count, Genre.
The payments are sent to you at the address you give and made out to the name you give. The SSN comes in to play when your parents file their taxes at the end of the tax year. Buy a copy of Writer’s Market for the current year and show your parents that it has literary agents from all over who represent every genre. I think they’ll feel better about not getting into SSN’s and other pertinent information.

If possible, I’d like to know about the due taxes and obligations. Please skip details about infrastructure, supplies, etc. It’s just about "What do I need to do to create a legal company?".
The legal procedure typically depends on the type of business that you want to start. For example, a catering business would need to get more permits and licenses compared to a Web publishing business.
Typically, here’s what you need to do
1. Decide on your legal structure. Sole proprietorships have fewer requirements compared to an LLC or corporation. The place to go for information on the state requirements for each legal structure is the Secretary of State.
2. Register your business. Go to your county and check the procedure for business registration. In some states, this can be done online so check your Secretary of State or Governor’s website to see if there are links to online business registration. Sole proprietorships generally do not have to file any special forms or pay hefty fees. Declaring the business to be a sole proprietorship while filing the application is good enough.
3. Fictitious Business Name or DBA – If you are going to use a name other than your own for your business, you need to file for your DBA. Go to you city or county clerk’s office; or check if your state allows you to do this online.
4. Permits and Licenses. This depends on the type of business you will run. Some businesses will require permits to be run while others do not. Check your state’s requirements for your type of business.
California has the best online facility for determining all the permits and licenses a certain type of business needs with their California Business Permitting Database http://www.calgold.ca.gov/ .
5. Employer Identification Number (EIN) or tax ID. Generally, businesses need an Employer Identification Number (EIN) or federal tax identification number. The EIN is used to identify a business entity such as a corporation, LLC, or partnership. Sole proprietorships that need to pay federal excise of employment taxes are required to get an EIN.
On the other hand, sole proprietors with no employees are not required to get an EIN, and can instead use their Social Security numbers.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) web site at http://www.irs.ustreas.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=98350,00.html contains all the information you need about EIN and how to apply for an EIN electronically.
6. Sales Tax Number. A business that sells any tangible item is required to get a sales and use tax license. Sales and use tax that applies to the retail purchase, retail site, rental, storage, use or consumption of tangible personal property and certain services vary between states. Check with your state Comptroller office for the requirements and procedures in getting a sales tax number.
7. Zoning Permits. Check with the zoning board the requirements for your location. Zoning permits encompasses the signage of your business as well.
Be careful if you are running a home business and your business requires customers to come to you — and your house is zoned as residential. Typically zoning boards turn a blind eye on home-based businesses but NOT after a neighbor complains.
8. Other permits and licenses. This can run from healthcare permits if you are serving food or operating a tattoo parlor, or burglar alarm permits if you have a store, or even permits to play music in a public area if you want your music store to have music blaring. Check with your city or county clerk to see what other requirements you need.
